4 Bipolar Kids
What is Bipolar?
Bipolar disorder is a neurological illness that causes chemical imbalances in the brain. It is inherited. A bipolar child or teen may have rapid mood swings throughout the day swinging from depression to manic episodes. Along with the mood swings may be anxiety, hallucinations,
cravings for carbohydrates and sugar, and problems with the sleep/wake cycle. If you suspect your child or teen has this illness, we recommend you see a child and adolescent psychiatrist who is familiar with bipolar disorder.
